"The lake district has been inspiring people as long as people have been around the Lake District.
Our generation is no different”.
The Binsey Field kitchen is a cumulation of years of dedication, hard work and sacrifice, having given most of my early life to the pursuit of culinary greatness.
The hours were unsocial, the characters often questionable and at least in the early days; the pay was atrocious.
Whist my friends and family were enjoying holidays and celebrations that mark the passing of each year, I working this extraordinary job. Often with broken equipment, in 40 degree heat, in a pressure cooker of stress.
Why?
I couldn't imagine doing anything else, I love my job…
and that feeling of an ice cold drink in my hand after a long, hard, sweaty service, with zero complaints and 100% amazing feedback?
THATS WHY I DID IT.
The only difference between then and now?
The lakes have taken me out of the kitchens of the past, and into the field. This is my chance to help you to tell your story and to love every second that goes into that journey.
I wouldn't change my career, the vices and questionable characters that came with it for the world!

1,750 meals, 15 miles of walking, 300 delegates, 2 locations,
3.5million trees...

We are delighted to announce that we are part of a decade long innotative, working closley with local suppliers and buisneiss.
Alongside Cumbria wildlife Trust and AVIVA we will be part of the team helping to plant 3.5million trees on Skiddaw.

Working in close conjuction with Kerry Irving, BRAVEHOUND and Pooch and Mutt, raising money for a variety of charities.
Last Brew for Moo event we helped raise over £35,000.

The Ridge
The Ridge is a six-bedroom luxury holiday home in Bowness-on-Windermere. This property sleeps 12 guests across over 6,000 square feet. Perfect for large groups wanting space and facilities.
The property includes a vaulted games room with pool table and a wood-clad cinema room with surround sound.
Located in Cumbria with direct access to Lake Windermere. The property sits in an enclosed rear garden with panoramic lake views from every floor.
Bristowe Hill
Descend for dinner to the oak-panelled dining room. Take tea in the orangery. Sip aperitifs on the terrace. Or retreat to the pavilion for afternoon tea. Break out the croquet, soak up the views. A little more ice in your G&T? You can live like lords and ladies here, but don’t put on your pearls. Bristowe Hill is like a home from home.

Our Lead chef and owner Chris; has a wealth of experience, from a wide variety of backgrounds.
From Michelin starred restaurants, Olympic events, Private in house dining, Formula1, Porsche, Jaguar, Mercedes AMG and even the England football team; Chris has cooked for them all.
Yasmin Foster
Hostess/Barista
After an Illustrious career in Etihad Business class, before moving into operations, Yasmin moved back From Abu Dhabi to The lake district to set up Lal Yan Coffee.
Utilizing her skills and her passion for service; she is The Binsey Field Kitchens Lead hostess with the mostess!

Chef
Chris has been a corner stone of the Field kitchen since day one.
His passion for pie is second to none, when he is not helping us he is busy with his own company: The Pie Man West Cumbria.
